Understanding Light Emitting Diodes (L.E.D.)

How LED Lights Work

Standard light bulbs require the heating of a filament to create light. Light-emitting diodes, or LED, create light through solid state (semiconductor) technology in which electricity is passed through a chemical compound that is then energized and generates light.

Benefits of led lights

LEDs possess very good light efficiencies, which have improved in the last few years. Currently, the best led produce roughly 60 lumen per watt—about three times more lumen per watt than a quartz halogen bulb. And we now have this advanced technology available for outdoor landscape lighting.

L.E.D. for Outdoor Landscape Lights

LEDs are a great light source; they were at one time inefficient at “projecting” light to illuminate an object or area. Not anymore. This exciting new technology has overcome the obstacles and now your landscape lighting will illuminate better than ever before!

With this new technology, heat is no longer a problem. Unlike any in the industry, LEDs “burn cool” and their light efficiency does not drop when surrounding temperatures are high.

Fluctuations in voltage, common in any lighting application, can reduce the usable life of a bulb. Again, with this technology, fluctuation is not a problem and the LED longevity far exceeds that of any other lighting application. L.E.Ds run 50,000 hours (ten plus years) with no light bulb changes.
Our LEDs produce a warm white light.

These LEDs arrive ready to wire into a 12-volt source. They are engineered to allow electricity to pass through them at specific voltages or currents (10v-15v), and accompanied by ballasts that enable them to operate at specific voltages. This means, we can retrofit any low voltage lighting system without having to disassemble your entire system. Just remove the old fixture and replace with the new LED fixture.

LED landscape lights use less energy and produces immediate energy savings while providing quality and intensity of light. Aesthetically, LG Landscape Lighting is excited to present this new technology that far exceeds any other in the industry. LED landscape lighting is the future and will dominate the market as informed citizens make sincere efforts to support the environment. Go Green with L.E.D. and Save!
